Did that title make you start singing the Marvin Gaye song?  Just me?  🙂  Well, since we are in the last week of January, I thought an update might be due.  I am not allowed to discuss many details about our adoption publicly on the blog, but I think an unspecific update is okay.

Here’s the exciting update . . . we are waiting!  🙂  Yep.  Same verse, different chapter.  HOWEVER, all we are waiting on is a court date.  Once we have that, we will know when we are going to travel.  We were supposed to get a date last week, but then there was a conference that all the judges attended.  Then, we were supposed to get one Monday, but the judges / registrar did not come in to work.  That has happened all week, so far.  HOPEFULLY, everyone will report back to work tomorrow.  But – they may not.  I have long been told, “TIA,” which stands for “This is Africa”.  They just do things differently there, and their normal mode of operation does not resemble that of America.

Bottom line: We could find out we’re leaving in a week, or we could find out we won’t leave for another month.  So, any of you out there that would like to pray with me that the Lord would see it fit to move this process along, that would be awesome!  Thankfully, I am certain of several things.  I know that God is in control.  I know He desires for our little ones to have parents, and He knows how badly we want to see them.  I know God loves them even more than we do.  And He is good.  I trust His character, and I trust Him.  So, here’s to hoping I have more exciting news next time!  🙂
