Thought I would write an update on our process. Yesterday I mailed our i-600a form to the US government, along with all of the other documents they need. Last Friday, I sent off a huge packet to go to Uganda for our lawyer there. We still lack a few items for him, but are at the mercy of the US govt. to get them to us.
So, now we wait. We wait for the US govt. to send us an appointment to get our fingerprints taken so they can run an FBI background check. Then we wait for the US to approve us. After we have US approval to adopt, our lawyer can start things on the Ugandan side.
Don’t think I’ve mentioned it, but I am NESTING LIKE CRAZY! One of my sweet friends who adopted last year put it ever so accurately, “the rest of your time from here on out, you will feel 9 months pregnant.” This is very true. I am so excited and just can’t wait! However, I really tip the scales when I am pregnant, so by 9 months, I am usually rivaling my husband’s weight. Thankfully, that is not the case this time. 😉
Thank you so much for your prayers for our sweet babies during this time!
