Things have been really busy and lots of fun around the Hewitt household. The kids are all growing and changing so much. Maya has been going to a MDO church programs two days a week and LOVES it. She now loves all things girly and has lost her previous love for bugs. She wants to wear skirts, dresses and jewelry all of the time. This is a welcome obsession because for several months she has been on a pajama kick. All she wanted to wear was pajamas. It was so bad that she would choose to stay at home rather than go do something fun because she didn’t want to take off her pajamas. She used words like “beautiful”, “so pretty” and “wonderful” to describe her pajamas. Odd. Maya has definitely inherited some of my OCD tendencies. I will say that it works in my favor lately because she likes to fold her clothes really neatly and line them up in rows. Some days those are the only clothes that get folded around here. 🙂 Maya is a really sweet and sensitive little girl who LOVES her family. She really cares for others and has a very joyful heart. Maya is also a wonderful helper to me. She is always there when I need something for Cooper. She does has a lot of little oddities and an extremely strong gag reflex, but then she is my daughter. I must say that I tend to have sympathy with her when eating her vegetables brings on the dry heaves. 🙂
Olivia is a total character, as you can see from her pouty picture up top. Livy is really loud most of the time, but now that she is talking more, we get to hear her little speaking voice. Her words are very quiet and full of inflection. She is doing great with her talking and picks up new words every day. While Maya began her need for girly things later than most, Olivia was apparently born that way. She is OBSESSED with shoes and has to wear them all the time – even over her footed pajamas. She cries and cries “shooos” until you put some on her. Unlike her sister she HATES pajamas and wants to be fully dressed all of the time. Livy is a little monkey and figured out how to escape from her crib this month. After several nights of her and Maya visiting us in the middle of the night, we decided to get her a crib tent. While we feel a little bit like jailers, it has made our family well rested again and much happier.
Cooper is doing really well. Unfortunately, he has already been sick 3 times. Poor guy. He got the short end of the stick being a winter baby and having older sisters who bring home all sorts of germs. We do our best to try to keep their hands sanitized and off of Cooper, but they absolutely ADORE him, so it’s a major challenge. We’ve entered the honeymoon phase with him that usually lasts until 9 or 10 months. He’s a really sweet and calm baby, and I just want to smother him with kisses all the time. His smile just melts me. He’s started cooing and laughing, and it’s the most wonderful sound to my ears. Coop is also a major chunk. He currently weighs over 15 lbs, which makes his cheeks even more kissable. That’s pretty big for a 12 week old.
The Lord has blessed our family beyond measure with such sweet and healthy kiddos. I was just thinking yesterday that they are all so unique, but they are all so much fun. I LOVE getting to be home with them and take in every minute of it. Motherhood obviously has its challenges, and there are definitely days that I get burned out, but it is also the most fulfilling and wonderful job I could ever have. I adore our kiddos and thank the Lord every day for the opportunity to spend another day with them.
Hey, Jessica! I absolutely think your kids are so precious! I'm glad to hear that everybody's doing well. I can't believe Cooper is already 3 months old. It seems like you just had him.
