Well, we’ve had a bit of craziness the last few days. I went to the hospital on Monday night because I was having so many contractions, and then right before we got there, I started throwing up in the car. So, apparently my sweet daughter was kind enough to pass her little bug on to me. When she had it, it wasn’t quite so severe, but pregnancy weakens your immune system, so everything tends to be worse.
They addmitted me to the hospital because of the frequency of my contractions and the stress my body was putting on the baby. I only had a temp of 100.4, but that was enough to put Olivia’s heart rate up to the 190s and 200s. Finally, Tuesday about mid-morning we got her heart rate back down to normal and it stayed that way for the majority of the day. They kept me on an IV with fluids and nausea meds while I was there, so that took care of the vomitting. My contractions stayed extremelely regular at every 6 minutes from about 8:30 am until they quit monitoring me at 11:00 pm when they discharged me. As of yesterday mid-day, I was only dialated to a 1.5 and was 50% effaced. Wednesday my nauseau was just coming in waves, but I didn’t throw up any more. I was still having contractions, but they weren’t as close together or as regular.
Through all of this, my sweet husband Jeff has been amazing! He is so selfless and compassionate. He is constantly trying to find ways to comfort me and make me feel better. I am so blessed to have him for my husband. God gave me SO MUCH MORE than I deserved by giving him to me. 🙂
Well, it is now 4:30 a.m on Thursday morning, and I’ve been up since 12:20 a.m. I slept for two hours and then haven’t been able to fall back to sleep. Half the time heartburn was waking me up and the other contractions were doing it. So, for now now, I’ve given up trying to sleep.
My dear parents have Maya, so I’ll go get her later this morning. I cannot express how incredibly WONDERFUL it is living close to my family. Not only is it such a joy to get to hang out with them often, but in times like these, they are an incredible help. Knowing that Maya is with her Honey, Papa and Aunt Ashlee puts me at total ease because she absolutely adores them.
I go in tomorrow at 2:40 p.m. for a doctor’s appointment, and she is going to check and see if I’m making any progress. My prayer is that either I will be progressing, or my contractions will stop. Either would make me happy. I’ll post again once I get a new report from the doctor.
