I haven’t written about the kiddos in a few posts, but they are doing great! We have really seen them both open up. Henry is feeling more secure, and Hope gives us lots of smiles and kisses now. It’s so fun to see them making such great progress. I know we have really rough times ahead of us, but progress is progress. ๐
Henry has a funny little personality. I feel like he’s going to be a little trickster. He’s really sweet and likes to cuddle, and he smiles SO big every time we look at him. He’s a fun little man. His laugh is so funny. It’s kind of an emphazema laugh. He’s definitely kind of a whiner, but we’ll work on that. ๐
Hope is just a doll! She is so little and cute. She flashes her little gummy smile quite often now and gives us lots of giggles. She gives hugs and kisses and is always so happy to see us. She also eats a ton. Much more than her big brother. Henry has no problem regulating his food intake, but I’m thinking Hope might? Not sure yet. We decided we will feed her as much as she wants (within reason) while we are here, and then check with the adoption doctor when we get back about how best to handle it. Hope has a petite frame, but her tummy and thighs are chunky. ๐ It cracks me up that we just have chunky babies no matter what. Even if they come from an orphanage in Africa. ๐
The kids have also made a lot of progress with each other. Initially, they only saw each other as competition, just like all the other kiddos at the babies home. Several times now though, they have sat and laughed at each other and spoke in gibberish. It’s really cute. I know they will both try to work out their place again once they get home with our other children, but hopefully the foundations they are building will help.
I’m pretty sure our camera card and card reader were stolen, so I only have one new pic of the kiddos. We’re going to get another card today, so I should get some new pics soon.

Aww, what a sweet update! I bet it is so cute to see them talk to each other! And I love to hear that Hope freely gives you smiles and kisses! The more secure they feel in you the more progress you will see. Keep trying to enjoy your time with just the two of them because you're right, once you get home there will be new challenges, but they will be overcome!
