Maya was the flower girl in Jeff’s brother’s wedding on Saturday at UNT. We were planning to take a family picture because we all looked so schnazzy (word borrowed from Steph), but of course it never happened. Jeff was in the wedding, so it was me with the two girls during the ceremony, and that was one of the more stressful experiences of my life. Between trying to keep both of the girls from freaking out during the service (outside in the heat) and the reception and nursing in odd places on campus, I was exhausted. I can say, however, that everytime I actually make it through something really difficult like that, I am quite proud of myself on the other side. It makes me feel a little more accomplished and capable each time I am stretched to my limit. I also get a greater appreciation for all of the parents I know and have known. I know my day was no more stressful than any other day of parents’ with young children trying to get through an otherwise normal event. Props to all of the parents out there! 🙂
