Jeff and I have this new ongoing joke between ourselves. He says that I am becoming him. He says that this is due to the fact that it’s just better being him. [If you know him very well, you can see him saying this with a smug smile on his face.][ Jeff is a very humble person, but he is also a professional-grade button pusher, and I am his favorite target.
At any rate, at the center of this new joke of ours are my new hobbies and interests. I have a new found love of computers, which goes together nicely with my new love of blogging (both posting and reading other people’s) and studying theology. Now, back in ’98 when I took a class on HTML at SMU, I gained my initial love for computers. I thought I was pretty hot stuff b/c I could ‘code’. Jeff, however calls HTML a markup language and not really a code, so he loves to say I couldn’t ever really ‘code’. (If you don’t either work in computers or have a spouse in computers, that last inside joke didn’t make a lick of sense to you.)
Now, Jeff doesn’t blog and doesn’t necessarily like to read blogs, but he does like to play on his computer. He says I’ve become like him b/c I love to be on the computer too. We decided this last Friday night that we are officially ‘lame’ because we were both on the couch with our laptops having quite a good time. 🙂 (BTW – Maya has been sick for a week, so we’ve been tied to the house, otherwise we would have abandoned our computers and gone out on a date. We aren’t that lame.)
On to my other new interest – studying theology. I have always enjoyed studying the Bible and searching commentaries to gain a deeper understanding, but my new hobby revolves around studying different theological topics within Christianity and reading what Biblical scholars teach. Most recently, I’ve been exploring Dispensationalism vs. Covenant Theology. Jeff is extremely intellectual, so studying theology (and philosophy) have always been a love of his.
By the way, Jeff introduced me to a new software program called “One Note” by Microsoft. It is awesome! It’s essentially like an electronic notebook, and it allows you to organize your notes incredibly well. I’ve been compiling all of my notes from my studies in it and love it!
This last paragraph is further proof that I’m turning into an even bigger computer nerd, more like Jeff. I mean really, I just used explanation points in sentences about a software program!
So to answer my initial question, Yes – I do think we become more like our spouses. Currently, I’m the only one morphing, but I think Jeff will come my way on some things soon. 🙂
just surfing by–wish you all the best,,thank you for the ,One Note-will check it out–Peace
